Where did you buy you aftermarket seat?
I am thinking of getting seat for my brother for X-Mas. Since he likes road racing, I thought it would be nice to get him $200-$300 one-piece racing seat. I am going to get the seat and let him worry about the mount. Should I buy it online or try it out at the store first to the fitment? Any seat expert out there?
Thanks.

It's better if you try it out first to make sure it fits. At least, you can get an idea on the fit for your brother. Racing seats should fit snug. They come in different sizes and styles. There is a place in Huntington Beach that has a display, so you can try it out. Check out their website for different seats available from them:

I'm not too familiar with what you can get for $200-300, but I'm not sure if I would roadrace in it. Most (certainly not all) sub $300 seats are just for show. Maybe a Kirkey? They're inexpensive, and crash tested/experienced. Otherwise, you're looking at a cheaper tube construction. Maybe a used seat is a good option, since you can get a better one in your price range.
