Powder coated Rims, cleaning??????
I just powder coated my rims and they got drity and the brake dust won't come off with soap and water, (what I always clean it with) I had a friend that powder coated his rims and it cleaned them with some after market cleaner for rims and the it turned dull. my rims are red and I have a coat of gloss on them, and I don't want to F**** them up, pls. help me let me know what's the best to use on powder coated rims, thanks alot
sorry I can't really help... but I would just try using one of those aftermarket wheel cleaners. Tehy are made specificly to remove brake dust. You could always just spray on another coat of gloss if they get dull.
By the way, I am a So-Cal local and was having some trouble finding a place to get my rims powder coated. Where did you get your done and how much did it cost?
Got any pictures?

DO NOT use any wheel/rim spray on cleaner you can screw up the finish on the rims. Just use soap and water. I know this from personal experience.
my dad owns a powder coating factory if they did a good job, it shoudtn get messed up by anything but the very very acidic cleaner the use to strip powder, use gasoline to clean them, I know it soudns dumb but i works great

I just use dish soap and a carwash mitt....works fine. They're flat black though, so afterwards they look a little more dull than the normal finish so I just spray em real quick with tire shine and wipe em down real quick.

DO NOT use gasoline. Powder coating is tuff stuff, but any solvent will break the coating down unless it is a thermo plastic, or a epoxy powder, which im 99% sure it is not. It is a TGIC poly most likely which dosnt have good solvent resistance. Simple green will work great, along with any other type of paint care product. I suggest laying down a nice layer of quality carnuba on them to keep them looking good. Remember, powder is tuff, but not indestructable.
no I can 't find it, ?? but you can call 411 and they will have it,, if not it's right there off of Baseline and ceder, go up baseline until you hit ceder and it's the first street past ceder on the left, go up to the group of buildings and it's like the sec. or third row to the right. (RIALTO)
