NEW Road Race track 30min from Richmond
You heard it here first. NASA's got the scoop.
Dragon's Ridge Motorsports Park will be a 4 mile road racing circuit located 15 miles west of Williamsburg, VA. The first phase will be a two mile course with the other two being added within the first two years.
I have spoken at length with the organizers. This is absolutely for real and they have the permission and the funds to pull it off.
Should be open in April of 2003. NASA already has dates.

bad A$$.....another track within 3 hours.....i guess i can handle all the car taxes that this pisspoor state tries to collect from me!!! guess i won't be moving back to az any time soon!!
"Presently, track plans include a road course of approximately two miles with sufficient width for passing (minimum of 36'). Wide run-off areas will surround the track for improved safety and minimized vehicle hazards. Designed and developed with the knowledge and experience of today's standards, DragonsRidge will meet the needs of both driver in terms of safety, challenge, and enjoyment. Whether you are racing at the limit or taking your car out for a casual drive, DragonsRidge Motorsports Park will be the track for you."

I guess this is the one I was told about. There website is pretty cool. Seems like a legit operation. They even mention autocrosses too! Nothing wrong with having another place to play! Their membership deal looks sweet as well. I'm stoked!
Hmm... I wonder if they have apartments available on the front straight...
Williamsburg to work... 20 min
Dragon's Ridge to work... 35 min
Having your daily paper whisked away by a 120+ mph Viper's wake... priceless.
