Speaker Noise
Hi everyone, i just have a problem with my speakers, here's the story;
I was driving and had my subs on pretty damn loud, and then all of a sudden, it cut out. In the 5 months i had my system, this had never happend before. I restarted the car and the my subs came back on, but i noticed that they were not as loud as they were before and that my 6x9 speakers (stock cause i'm poor) now seem to be trying too hard to produce sound (which i have had no problem with before, which is also why i haven't bought new ones just yet.)
On my alpine CDA - 9811, there is the MX boost button, before, i can turn this function without hearing any noise, and now, i can't due to the incredible high frequency noise that is being produced. On top of this, my subs feel underpowerd and they play higher frequency bass than the lower bass that i was used too.
I don't know much about these systems, but i can tell that their is definately a diffrence in what i was used to before.
I was wondering if it is a speaker and/or amp problem, do i need to buy new ones? (aftermarket speakers were something i was planning to buy soon, but my amp after 5 months?)
I'm running:
Alpine CDA - 9811 header, twin pioneer 10 inch subs, alpine 700watt mono amp.
I also was wondering what are signs of head unit failiure and how can i tell if my subs are working properly?
Thx 4 ur help.
