CAM cap torque spec's

whats up. whats the torque specs for the cam caps on a B18B. the haynes manual said it's about 86 in-lbs. but what does this equal in ft-lbs?

7.2lb*ft

Divide inch*pounds by 12 inches per foot to get foot*pounds.

u sure? damn i torqued em to 15 ft-lbs! i better loosen them up!

7.2 is the valvecover bolts, not the bolts for the cam caps....cam caps are like 22 or something.

Go look in your manual. Cam cap bolts are 7.2lb*ft. These specs are for a B18B, not a VTEC head.

LOL!! i did that one time...looked up cam caps torque specs for a vtec head and torqued 20+ft lbs on my ls and broke the damn thing in the head.
