Fuel Pump Replacement
Fuel pump on my 1999 Accord has developed significant whining sound during pre-start actuation, and during operation. Vehicle hesistates or surges while engine is cold. Condition appears to be related to fuel delivery, as I have recently changed pugs, cap, and rotor.
Input from anyone regarding this condition, and feasibility for DIY replacement of the fuel pump, would be appreciated.

Just make sure you get the kit for your car. It is not rocket science.
On a 99, I doubt your fuel pump is bad however. Unless you have been driving like 12 hours a day since you got it.

Thanks for your input.
I bought car used with 106K miles, and don't have service history.
Car developed hesitation and noisy condition on paump at roughly 106001 miles after paying for it.
Any suggestions on where to purchase, or install procedure would be appreciated.

Goto sponsor forum, look for Lightning, and ask TOM for a walbro 190 kit for your exact car. Should be shipped to you for like 80 bux. Great deal, great seller. You may want to look into the in-line fuel filter that is somewhere back there on 6 gen accords too (?).
Check all your vacuum lines off your intake mani as well and do a radi flush. I would check all the belts for wear and look on your dipstick for oil color. Take a peak at your tranny dipstick(autos) or service **** (manu), and smell for burning. Check your axle boots for tears etc...... list goes on and on, but the preventative will save you money in the long run.

Thanks for the lead on the pump. Replacement procedure in Chilton's appears fairly straight forward.
Thanks for tips on other maintenance - haven't typically spent time on vehicle until something is broken, and should be more proactive.
