not really. i don't think tein puts that much effort into making their basic dampers match their basic spring rates.
also judging by the dampers they use on their cheaper suspensions, even if they did specify a certain valving, they're not designed to be that precise anyway.
"ride quality" is determined by 2 major factors when talking about a suspension:
spring rates
shock/damper rates.
get good shocks, and the right springs for those shocks and the car will drive just fine. don't need to spend 1,000 on a set of coilovers for that.

and i love my GC's and Koni's...
unless you're asking for all of the bells and whistles out of a suspension, there isn't much reason to spend that much money on it. comfy, adjustable ht can all be achieved with adjust. springs and the right shocks. it may cost as much as the tein basics, but the basics aren't adjustable damping, nor are they the highest quality product that tein makes (having seen some shock dynos, they're not a top notch damper.) also, you don't have the same spring rate choices with tein that you do with GC/SK2 + Shock.
250F/200R ground controls with some kyb AGX's sound like they'll be just fine for your application, imho.

"coilovers" or "full coilovers" are when a company sells a threaded shock body + spring assembly together as one kit. they are ht. adjustable and have the dampers matched to whatever spring rates, ideally.

so if i went out and bought springs and shocks i would have a full coilover kit???
and would tokico shocks go good with eibach springs???
whats a good combination or shocks and springs???
or what is a good coilover kit out there???

i didnt say tein
but what im saying is that a full coilover system would probably be more reliable because the spring/shock combo were made for eachother (in most cases, if what you say abotu tein is true.)
but i myself am on H&R race springs and KYB AGXs, and they work amazing together.

No. You would have a suspension setup, lol. A full coilover kit is the shock and spring combined in one unit.
I am a big fan of H&R and Tokico.

it's a feel thing. custom rates = you pick what rate springs you want and how stiff it's gonna be, so you can go close to OEM and get 200#/in (or ~4kg/mm) or you can go 2000#/in if you want.

I have to agree with bad-monkey here. Teins are very expensive and if you're not going to be auto-xing alot on putting in a lot of road course time, I think they're are much better alternatives that are pocket friendly. As was mentioned Ground Control coilovers which dont have a shock (damper) with custom rates are great. Pair those with some Koni yellows and you have a fully adjustable suspension (height and dampering) and you're save some serious $$$ over a Tein setup.
