PPG is good quality. Kind of a related note, I got an aresol can of the following and did my side skirts when I first bought my car. I have very wet paint and it matched perfectly, and holds up well with weather and abuse.

Having your whole car sprayed should look just as good as factory.

thanks for all the replies..
seems like ppg is the way to go.
what is a little confusing is that ? the shop wrote the car factory paint code down and quoted me $1200 more to paint the whole car.
when i ask about a different shade of black " like a true deeper black " he
stated that is more custom work and will be $800 more...
does that mean the ppg paint of different model of cars are more expensive.
i am thinking painting the whole car would be the same labor not matter
the shade of black i choose.

i agree im def. a dupont guy (spies hecker).. its tuffer to work with so i hear, then ppg, buts its more durable and has better shine quality when preped/sprayed right (its all about your prep/gun/air).. my car was done in speis hecker dupont and personally all of the ppg paint i have seen next to mine look like macco
(seriously not bragging, i just wish i could see a good ppg paint job).. i know a lot of the hot-rod old guys use the house of colors b/c they have nice candies and what have you.. the only downside to dupont is that i think it cost a little extra over PPG, and thats why i see shops like M.O.B. using it b/c its just better paint.. but there is nothing wrong with ppg at all, i just am deprived of seeing a good paint job with it on

it think it just all depends on what line of ppg and what line of dupont you are comparing. my car shines like hell! it comes down to prepping the car and wetsanding. wetsanding does soo much for the paint. makes the paint look extremely deep.

shine is all dependant on the kind of clear coat used....

yes very true! what i meant by wetsanding was that it evens the clear out and gets rid of the highs and lows in the clear which makes it look nice, deep, and shiney.

any chroma-based paint will turn out good if the prepping is done properly, paint is sprayed on with patience. However, the environment you spray in also affects the turn out as well, but in a paint booth it won't matter.
that extra 800 they're gonna charge you is probably becuase it has a pearl flake, that will definitely cost more, just keep that in mind..
