Default big problem with ep3. Throws out a camshaft position sensor code.

my friends ep3 threw this code out, and when you turn it on it stutters and wants to turn off. sometimes it does turn off. does anyone by any chance know what could be wrong with his car? Thanks in advance for all the help.

the sensor is broken or loose connection possibly and its not sending correct signal to ecu for when to fire the spark so thats why it studders and turns off.

make sure you have source voltage on the black/yellow wire on the 3pin connector

were is this sensor located at? yeah cause the first time we pulled out the codes it said it misfired in all cylinders. hopefully this is just the problem. Where is this 3pin connector? is that the sensor? thanks for all your help guys.

the two camshaft position sensors are in the head just under the valve cover on the driver's side. where that ventilation hose goes into the valve cover

has he had any head work done? sounds like the timing may be off

well a guy took a look at it and found the problem. his sensor was fried. thats what the guy told him. how do those sensors get fried anyways? the guy said hes going to charge him $160 to replace it. so the problem has been solved. thanks for everything.
