Default MPFI done, won't start

ok so i'm basically done with my mpfi conversion, and everything's hooked back up, and it won't start. the ecu is throwing a code 4, the crank angle, and i'm having my friend who's a mechanic come over tomorrow and adjust the distributor. do you think that's what the problem is? just the dizzy's not lined up right? any other suggestions for things to check while he's here.

also, when i turn the key, gas squirts out from the top of one of the injectors. turns out that the far left fuel rail peg thing (the post you tighten the nut onto to secure the fuel rail) is stripped or something, cause it won't tighten or loosen. any suggestions for how to fix this? should i just source another one of those pegs off of a civic fuel rail from somewhere else? thanks for the help guys.

Dont mean to jack the thread, but do u have to switch the dist plugs when u do a mpfi swap? I'm also gonna be doing a ZC swap at the same time.

Bump for ya

You are going to have to trace the wires then, or your distributor is bad. When I did my MPFI I had the Cylinder Position Sensor error and I just resoldered a bad connection.

you dont HAVE to swap the dizzy plugs.. you could put the dx plug on the dizzy and wire up the other 2 wires.. or if its a dohc ZC i dont think the #1 cyl sensor is even on the dizzy.. so it has its own clip

alright, so after 2-3 hours of hacking and hammering and getting really frustrated, the old nut/stud is off and two new studs and nuts are on. the fuel leak is fixed. as for starting...

tested for spark, no spark. tested for power (using one of those power probe thingies that lights up) on the ignition wires. no power. so no power is getting to the ignition wires (the white ones right?). switched em. same deal. so what do you think? ECU is bad? even if it is, the dizzy could still be bad too. since that, the ECU, and the WRONG manifold all came from the same guy that i'm having trouble contacting from ebay. any thoughts/suggestions?

could be your distributors bad... are you getting any codes... are the tranny/thermostat grounds connected? check your ecu fuse...

ecu fuse is fine. can't make a determination about the distributor since the power isn't even getting to it.

Did you swap the wire for the cylinder position and the crank position at the ECU connector?

You need to swap B10 with C1 and B12 with C2 when going from DPFI to MPFI.

I know you dont want to hear this but just retrack your steps another time just to make sure nothing was forgotten.

These are the two guides I used when I did mine. If you were getting a code 4 before, I think the problem lays in or with the dizzy wiring.

Minus the craptastic connection I made, mine went off without a hitch. No misplaced wires, no disconnected grounds, just one sub-par solder.

Does this count???

First swap I ever did -
DPFI to MPFI
Auto to Manual conversion
OBD-0 to OBD-1
Complete custom wired engine harness - just had all the sensor plugs, wire, and completely depinned firewall connectors.

Started first try (after charging the dead battery)
Map sensor code and VSS was all I got.
Only had to swap the pins on the MAP around and do the resistor on the back of the cluster hack for VSS.
