Default few ?s about an 89 civic Si

Just picked up a 89 civic for a winter car/daily driver. Mechanically its in great condition. There are just a few things I would like to change but this is my first honda so I'm not sure.

1. Shifter. There is alot of play in the shifter. When its in gear i can move it left to right alot. Will installing a short throw fix this or are they all like that? I have a short throw in my mustang and there is no play at all.

2. Windows. The 1st owner of the car installed electric windows and now the motors are toast. I want to bring them back to manual. Do I just need the cranks? and where can I find those?

Thats all I got for now. Thanks in advance.

I have friends cars that have that (very annoying) and i talked to a couple people about and they said its a bearing at the bottom of the shifter and there is no after-market so you have to buy them from a Honda Dealership. Not positive on that answer just what ive heard

ps. good buy
