b16a head problems!!!!!!!!
Ok so i got this B16a motor and the first time i tryed to fire it up somehow radiator fluid got pumped into my cylinders, so i got my head off and found 8 bad values and got them replaced as well as got my block checked out( for cracks)and new head gasket. Now i got my motor all pieced together and i tryed to start it but i think my distributors bad because im not getting power out only into it(the distributer). But the problem is when i was trying to crank the motor over i found radiatior fluide leaking through the head gasket seal. I have no idea why. My friend says that i shouldnt have used permatex on the gasket. But i dont know if that is true or not? I already took the plugs out to check the cylinders and theres no sign of radiator fluid in them this time. So i dont know what to do, if anybody could offer me some help i would appreciate it.
Sounds like a blown head gasket. Are you sure that the Cylinder head and block are not warped? No, you should not have used permatex on the cylinder head. It is not required. You can use spray on copper seal if you like, but it's not necessary. Also, don't forget that stock head bolts stretch over time, and if you're doing a head gasket it's best to replace them, either with OEM bolts or better yet some ARP bolts (which may actually be cheaper). First thing I would do: a compression and leakdown test, to see how bad it's leaking.
could the permatex caused an unevenness between the block and the head, causing me to leak? Also if the radiator fluid is coming out why isnt it ontop the cylinders?
