wheel fitment question
looking to buy some rims for my 4th gen prelude. what all do i need to look for for fitment. im looking at a set now, the info given is 17X7 8 hole 4X100/4X114.3mm 40 offest. i know what everything means except the offset. can someone please let me know about this. thanks in advance, sorry for newb question. but i got to learn somewhere.

If the offset of the wheel is not correct for the car, the handling can be adversely affected. When the width of the wheel changes, the offset also changes numerically. If the offset were to stay the same while you added width, the additional width would be split evenly between the inside and outside. For most cars, this won't work correctly. in you guys experience will a +40 offset be ok for my car without hurting the handling?? car has been lowered with H&R sport springs. thanks again
