Default Your Girlfriends and Your Racing Hobby.....

EDIT- & Wives, Significant others, and boyfriends if that's your thing (not that there's anything wrong with that )
Question sparked by one of y0shi's posts.......

Wut does everyone's woman have to say?

Mine gets all freaked out just when I drive (what I consider to be) spiritedly (but safe) on the street...

She isn't into cars, but she came out to a track event with me once and rode with me on the road course! (Gingerman)

She said it was really scary, but surprisingly fun, and wants to do it again!
I was so proud of her

See my sig below, She has also driven my car on Gratton, Gingerman and Waterford Hills, so I guess all is good at my house.

My g/f is not the best driving companion. I usually never hit VTEC while she's in the car cause she'll give me this evil stare. Sometimes I do because that way she'll stop rambling. When I hit VTEC, she seriously just stops talking. Hehe. I wonder why?

I'm usually pretty good about driving safely on public streets, so no complaints from the g/f there.

She's been to the autox w/ me (see pic below) so no problmes there either.
However, she still doesn't know my intentions to go road racing.

yoshi - who knows he's going to get an earfull when he tells her , but it's not going to be tonite since it's her bday

I made the mistake about 10 years ago by taking my wife to an AutoX (Roebling Rd, the good old days when we ran the full 2 mile course for AutoX!) and at the time she had a MR2 that we took and I always had a hard time keeping that thing straight. She didn't appreciate my lack of skill and I think that blew any chance of her getting very interested in it. She's not too crazy about my road racing, expecially after our kids were born, but she's learn to accept what has to be. I don't know why she doesn't like to sit around for a weekend in the south at a track with 90+ degrees and high humidity. Go figure. Maybe a motor home would make things different.

My fiance is all good too. She has always liked cars, and I just introduced her to my madness. She started slow but now is happy working on the car and LOVES going to track events. She's driven a few diff road courses and autox's w/ me now.

In fact the first time I met Yoshi and K3lly, she was there at the autox school, and instead of getting pissy and complaining while I was instructing she got involved and next thing I know she's waving the green flag and announcing stuff.

My gf is pushing me to get a hatch and build it up for road racing. I'm trying to hold off, but she wants it!...which is kewl. She has a lude and loves it when she hits VTEC. When I do get my hatchy and build it for racing, she's gonna come to all the events with me and drive it too. So, it's all good here...at least with the gf...it's the money, or lack thereof, that's the main problem.

The g/f forked over some money so we could both purchase one of the last PY ITRs in the area, just so we could add to the collection. I say she likes the cars. Actually likes driving the White more so than the Yellow. She will be accompanying me for autoX next year. Hopefully she give it a go. What a girl. Love my baby.

My girl likes the fact I race and put effort into someting I enjoy and likes going and watching. She loves hearing VTEC and when I do let her drive it's hard to get her to stay out of VTEC
But on another note, she gets EXTREMELY pissed when I don't take her out at night like to the movies or a nice dinner in the R, thats what my commuter car is for. Either she drives or she even took off the other night and went home since I put my foot down and said the R stays home in the garage tonight!

Haha mine said the same thing about the seats....

If you're going to buy one, you have to buy me one too.
This coming from the same girl who complained a too small vanity mirror, and actually ended up ripping the tab off it...

My future wife HATES the ITR, because I never drive anywhere! That's her reason, because we always take her car out!

My girl loves it. At the ATL dyno day meet not only was she anticipating the dyno results but she was very happy when we got to hit the road and recorded a little bit of us playing "keep up if you can" on the highway. She also loves the street races! Check the profile!

my girlfriend hates the fact I own a car and hates it even more that I spend all my money on the car and not her.

I told her when she can make me look like this all the time like my car, then maybe I'll put some money into her!
