please say it aint so!!
so i'm on my way into work tonight, and i'm taking off from a stoplight shifting from first to second and my car starts acting up, almost as if its only running on two or three cylinders, it's bogging down, no power what so ever. i coast to the side of the road and it dies. that it, will not start, pop the hood and smoke spills from my intake filter. no fuses are blown, electrical is fine. nothing sticking out from my oil pan. wtf? did i blow something in the engine, as far as i can tell there is nothing leaking. please help. (my car has 199k on the enging and i have driven it pretty hard in the past.) thanks guys
When my dx died it had the same syptoms except my smoke poured out of my exhaust, ringlands were gone in cyl 2. Something sounds to me like your timing belt jumped. Getting smoke out of yuor intake means something is backwards or backfiring. Check your basic things first, pull your plugs, check your timing belt, if all looks good give it a compression check.
