Default G2 HP question (not what you think)

I have read that the 90-91 b18a has 130hp and the 92-93 b18a1 has 140hp. Since the displacement and the compression is the same, is the hp difference made up by higher lift cams? If so, can they jsut drop into the earlier motor?

yeah, that's what I've read. It has something to do with the cams. I don't know if you can just drop them in or not, but I don't see why not.

Now, have a good day!

the diffrence in horespower is in that the 92-93 tegs have better cams , intake manifold and exhaust manifold, all these parts are direct bolt on. If you have no idea on how to use a torque wrench or know how to put the motor back in perfect timing i would sugest you find some one else that knows how to instal the cams.

O believe me I can do it all myself, I have been doing this type of thing for a while. I am thinking about doing it however. Can the b18b cams, and intake mani bolt right on?

if you're gonna do it you definitely want a b18b manifold, its better flowing. get some b18b cams too, they're newer!

Yea, cams make a big diff between the years of the g2. 92-93 ls cam swaps are done often

if I can get this kind of performance, Ill definatly do it.
Although....ls/vtec with a b16 head sounds tempting, but not at least until next summer. Too cold out already.
