Default Type S - Type R

Alright this is very simple so I am going to try and take up as little time as possible for you guys b/c I wasnt sure where to post it and you guys seemed like a good fit.

Right now I have a jdm gsr/hatch which I am in the process of putting up for sale.

I am going to purchase a teg and by next spring have a type-s motor running under the hood.

My question is this:

Is the K-Type S vs. K-Type R the same as the GSR vs. B18cR?

Just trying to get a comparison and would this be the smart thing to do, being that I do have the money. And will it have more potential then my gsr hatch even though its in a heavier car?

Thanks Guys

True, Im guilty as charged, but can you blame me?

Forums like Hybrid and tech rarely ever get hits.

I didnt think this forum was too far off. Sorry if it was though.

When you say "same" how do you mean it?

As in the same engine basically but one is massaged and tuned more for higher output? Then as I understand it the answer is Yes.

Personally unless part of the equation is right in front of you, IE you already have a chassis and only need the motor/tranny or vice versa, I wouldn't go looking for a hybrid like this. But this is just me personally. I tend to err on the side of caution and enjoy Honda Reliability to it's fullest. It's great to have a fun sporty car that you Don't need to tinker with or spend enormous amounts of time (regardless of money) setting up just right.

But for you it might be different.

I am purchasing a teg, then stripping it, having it painted, then going to drop a k motor in this. So I would have the chasis, just would need motor an tranny and all other parts to make it work, i.e. mount kit, header, misc., etc. So your saying you wouldnt undertake this project? **** I think half the fun is modding the honda, b/c the honda motor can be modded extensivley and still be reliable I think it will be a headache, but overall when I see the finished product I know I will love it.

Ok, well then for you obviously it is different. I personally don't have the time or the space to do this and would much rather just jump in my car and take it to the track on any given free weekend and not worry about any niggling issues.

Here's a few links I found extremely quickly looking at differences as per specs:

USDM RSX:
http://www.acura.com/models/mo...hcp=1

JDM Type-R:
http://www.honda.co.jp/factboo....html
&
http://www.hondanet.co.jp/home...2.htm

There's more out there, just take your time to search and read through it all.

Contact Jack "B18CXr" Moderator in the RSX DC5 / Civic EP3 forum to answer more if not all of your questions regarding yout topic.
