i have an amp.. and i was just wondering where a grounding point is for the ground wire..
from some people ive heard i can put it anywhere on the frame of the car.. but some people say that i need a specific point in the car
any quick help on this?
btw.., this is for a 92 prelude
ahh.. one more thing.. my amp is in the spare tire cmpartment.. (trunk)

1. Try to make the Ground wire short
2. Pick a spot on the chassis with a ground-path... pretty much most of the chassis is fine.
3. Sand that spot down WELL, get off all the paint/oxidation/corrosion
4. Ground it there...wire it in solidly, and make sure you can tug it -- good contact
5. Protect the connection with either a conformal coating spray, or vaseline, or something similar to prevent corrosion and "greening" of any sort.
Note: On my '88 prelude, my bro's '95 civic, my friend's '03 civic, and my dad's '91 accord... the grounding point used was near the trunk area where the trunk meets the cabin - we just sanded that area like hell... THOROUGHLY SAND IT DOWN PLEASE! clean it up...done
It is true that some points on a car may not be a ground path - I saw an amp install where the guy grounded under the front-seat... it didn't work because for some reason that spot wasn't connected chassis-ground. RIght next to that spot was a good ground point though (side of car) - so it was fixed.
