Default Oil pan similarities

i know that one of the oil pans is steel and one is aluminum. just cant remember which one. is it the 4th or 5th gen that is steel?

and will that bolt to an H22a4?

on my drive to nopi last night i think i cracked mine cause i covered the road in oil.

4th gens are steel as well as some 5th gens. I believe it was in 2000 that 5th gens started getting aluminum oil pans. The two pans should be interchangeable, the manner in which they bolt up to your tranny for additional regidity is different though. The steel pans use a simple two bolt bracket, while the aluminum pans utilize a larger bracket the provides better rigidity. So make sure you pick up one of those bracket when you get a steel pan.
