This maybe a noobie question, but I was curious as to whether there was a 6spd Trans compatible with the JDM B16 DOHC VTEC motor. It has a USDM 5spd tranny that's begging for a rebuild, was just wondering if I could get a close ratio 6 in there to boost performance.

just remeber anythin is possible with enough $, although i dont hink it would be worth it. just get a 5spd rebuild

 

Im wondering the same thing. Especially since my B16a tranny is short as hell. bump

 

everyones b16 trannies are geared too short... there is no cost effective alternative other than an LS, or GS-R tranny in its place.

 

I have to agree here with the $ thing, if it'll run me up way to much, I don't think it'd be worth it. BUT... I know Acura made a 6spd for their RSX Type S, and that's an inline four... Would that still be outrageously expensive to drop that gearbox in my tranny, just wonderin.

The answer is no. Honda doesn't make a 6 speed that will fit the B16a, but there are other after-market companies that do.
