What's up, guys (and girls, not to offend)?
I'm new here and I have a question.

I have a '99 Acura 2.3 CL with performance intake, header, plugs, wires, and exhaust.
I am about to buy an '89 Prelude Si.
The CL has the F23 > Vtec, SOHC 2.3
The Prelude has the B20 > NON-Vtec, DOHC 2.0
What I'm wondering, in order to save a little cash on upgrading the Prelude, is if I can swap the header between the 2 cars. I'll be running a straight through exhaust on the Prelude, so I'm not worried about the CL's header matching at that end, but will it match the ports on the block?
ANd, since I don't have the original header from the CL, if I was going to put the performance one on the Prelude, I would need one for the CL, so I need to know if that one will fit its ports.
I'll probably know for sure once I get the Prelude, and I'm pretty sure I already know the answer, but I wanted to see if anyone here knew for sure.
Thanks for any help.

The header will not work on the Prelude. The bolt patterns on the head and the port spacing are different.

Yah, I see what your getting at.
For background, this is going to be a cash car.
My wife and I are looking to have a little racer-in-training soon and, before we do, we're cutting some of our finances out. I've got 1400.00 saved up and for the money, #1 - This Prelude is the quickest and cleanest thing I've found for that amount, and #2 - This particular one just happens to be in unbeLIEVEable mechanical condition.
They guy hasn't taken care of the body such as washing, waxing, protecting the paint, etc. and there are a few little quirks on the door panels, but, for the most part, the interior is mega-clean (no cigaratte burns or scratches in the dash or seats) and the engine has been fully serviced to the T...he has all paperwork. It's INCREDIBLE! I can't pass that up because, as much as I'm looking for something quick that'll hang with my friends, I need dependability and longeivity overall.
The car actually has a decent amount of pep, mostly from the torque (surprisingly enough for a Honda), and, even without Vtec, I think it'll get me by and not have me at the back of the pack.
My only real plans are bolt-ons...i.e., 3" intake (to make up for the lack of Vtec), performance header with straight exhaust all the way back (see footnote at bottom), plugs and wires, and maybe adj. cam gears, if I find them. Other than that, a fuel system upgrade would be next, if I ever feel overzealous enough in the future. I'm not building this one to race or show seriously, but I have to have something zippy, so it'll do.

Footnote : Another question that I was curious about everyone's opinions is about the exhaust.
I'm pretty much putting in my own exhaust, one pipe, bent where it needs it, welded to the header and going AAAALL the way back to the muffler (something stock-ish).
What do you guys think about the diameter. Is 2.25 enough?? Is 2.5 too much?? Which would be optimum??

Oh yah, and what about the plugs/wires?? I shouldn't have a problem swapping them, right?? The block and distributor are pretty much positioned in the same spot, so the length of the wires shouldn't be a problem. WHat about functionability??
