They did not come with yellow valve covers or offer it as an option.

However, spoon does offer a painted valve cover in yellow.

i know that the spoon valve covers come powder coated but the covers i find online are a wrinkle paint similar to OEM honda's..are you sure they weren't an option because ive seen black suede recaro's with yellow stitching and JDM ITR momo steering wheels with yellow stitching instead of the red.

I am 100% positive.

I have NEVER seen black suede recaros with yellow stitching (oem of course). If you want to show me, that would be awesome.

They do have yellow recaros with black stitching, yellow stitched shift boot, and yellow stitched rear seats.

If the valve cover was crinkle, it is most likely custom done. I believe PMP or something like that offers yellow crinkle valve covers.

spoon yellow valve cover looks just like factory but ofcourse yellow.
everything is pretty much optional over there. if you wanted a pink type r, i'm sure a dealership would have just taken a R and had it repainted pink. so if you wanted a yellow valve cover, black recaro with yellow stiching, and had money to pay for it, i'm sure you could find a stealership that would take your money and tell you come back a month later to pick up your car.

i know for a fact that there is suede recaros w/ yellow stitching but I can't find pics..there was a local seller in Tampa FL that had a non SRS steering wheel with yellow stitching thats supposedly "rare"..ill let this discussion go for a little more and i'll have to try and search for them

I forgot to mention that you are correct about the yellow stitched steering wheel. It was offered in SRS and non-srs.

But I still know for sure there weren't black recaros with yellow stitching. Must have not been OEM.

does not look factory. if you look close the spark plug hole and bolt holes are painted, as to the red one they are not.
looks alot like spoon's cover

the older spoons are wrinkle the newer ones are glossy(maybe other way around) a factory yellow valve cover was NEVER availible, the factory did have an option for yellow recaros and yellow stick steering wheel, and door panels and rear seats in itr and ctr, those are the rarest interiors ever and cost like 5grand they they sell as complete, no parting out anything yellow, not very many of the yllow intereios have even left japan

The new spoon valve covers have smooth finish with bolt holes NOT painted and usually they have a blue mark on the bottom right bolt hole.

I thought the Spoon valve cover was a glossy finish, not crinkle coated?

Definitely NOT a factory option though.

That picture came from Options Auto Salon. They used to sell a yellow valve cover for about 150 bucks. It wasn't from Spoon, it was their own version.

The older ones were wrinkle finished, basically just sprayed yellow over the factory cover. The newer ones are powder coated.

How rare are those yellow seats? How many ITR's came with them? $4550 is a butt-load of money for 2 seats a console and the back bench.

Of all the itr/ctr's made there's probably only 50 complete sets made. They are so freakin rare, but they are the sickest seats ever. Mad props for anyone who blings them at a car show!
