I could build a faster car for way less than that.

JEG's catalog???? What a dumb ***. With that much money spent you'd think you would try to find a hookup.

So is a fuel cell under the hood even legal in drag racing?

If you read his whole ad it says he spent 52000 on it. We are not talking about the bid price

It's pretty easy to believe really. It's easy to spend a shitload of cash on a car used for racing.

I can believe 52K. My car was in the 40's when it was stolen. But buying all those 30000 dollars in mods from a jeg's catalog deserves a or two. I bet you if he bought all his stuff from sponsors on here he woulda saved 10000

Damn 52k invested into a car could have been used towards a house or something. I cannot even imagine putting 10k into my car.

Christ--I put 7k into my car and it's a very "mild" tune. To do a car w/ quality upgrades, the tab adds up VERY quickly.

Now I have a house, so my car gets nothing. It sits in the garage for weeks on end while the beater gets driven.

I think the seller meant he was using the JEG'S catalog to value parts he bought.

It's funny how everyone puts him down for spending so much, and using Jeg's to get his parts, etc. He stated what the parts are worth, and by looking through the JEG's catalog, and adding everything up, it's equal to about 52k. That doesn't mean he spent that much, didn't get hooked up, or even bought all of the parts that he has listed. You put the ad up that way to sell your car, and make as much money off of it as possible, while backing up your claims with facts. Look at the Jeg's catalog, it says a Direct port is $XXX.XX, did he pay that much for it? Probably not, but that's what they sell it for, therefore, that's the amount he added. I'm sure he knows you don't get back what you put into it, that's common sense.
