intake question?
hey buddys i got a question for yah? i have an aem CAI and i was wondering how often i should change my filter? i live in california.. i uno if dat makes a differnce. and also i was wondering what power gains did i get .. an intakes all i got so far right now .. i need a job too so any1 looking for help.. pm me or sumthing thx.. oh yea filter is K&n

and the best way to know when you need to change the filter... well, honestly, just look at it. some people need to clean it every few months, whereas some clean it once a year or less. it depends on how dusty the area you drive in is, etc...

cool thanks ... one more question i was thinking about how its set-up and i remeberd i have to connect one hose to the ..(i forgot its called valve cover?) part with the spark plugs whats the purpose of that hose? does anything go through there? or can i cap that off and put abreather on it .. i htink i heard somthing about that? or is that hose manditory

i found a pic with what im talking about juss to make sure now this isnt my car i juss found this pic on google... (shHh) but this is the line im talking about.. can i take this off cap off the intake and put a cap on the cover or should i put a breather or juss leave it? is it manditory?

just leave the hose as it's supposed to be connected, like in the picture.
that is your valve cover breather hose........
2.
look at the filter every 3 oil changes, or take into account the amount of dusty conditions you are in on a daily basis and adjust accordingly. When cleaning your K&N ... remember to tap it all around first to get all the large particles off, then only use a low pressure hose from the inside of the filter with water spraying to the outside.....never outside to inside......i prefer the hose and bucket technique.....
