Transmission Help
Ok out of my luck today in school I left my lights on and my battery went dead, i decided to push start it and it didnt work. so after like 3 trys some one came with jumper cables and turned it on. but after i started driving it, its been making some weird noises from the transmission.
When its in gear especially first it makes a noticable sound which is kinda high pitch, and as the revs go up the louder and faster it gets its like a spinning noise. well anyways when its in gear and i press on the clutch it keeps making the noise but as soon as i pull it out of gear it stops. any idea what it is? could i have damaged the transmission by trying to start it on a roll? the clutch still grabs hard but it just makes this weird noise. any solutions??

it could also be the throwout bearing.. Same thing happened to my friend. If it is the ISB or the synchros its going to cost alot to get fixed because tranny work is expensive unless you know how to do it yourself
ok so there is three possible problems, the throw out bearing, syncros and the ISB, everything works fine its just the damn sound, the clutch still grabs hard, everything shifts fine, its just that sound,
sounds like the ISB to me.
as for this

why would u be out of luck if it is the synchros? they arent that hard to replace. ive done it a few times.

First off if you want to replace your ISB in New Jersey, then look around New Jersey. Matter of fact look for other street racers and ask them who does there internal work. It should be hard to find. If all esle fail and it's not the ISB then check your gear box and your clutch altogether. Your gear box makes that sound when it needs to be lubed. In NJ the wether will cause the lubing to wear off faster than other places. I had the same problem.
