alright so i saw this 1996 Accord EX 4 cyl, at the local dealer, it has 90K sunroof, leather, all power etc, and the guy was asking for 5K which i thought was a pretty good deal... so after a bit of haggling i got him to drop it to 4500 the price was set..

so today i go to pay him, he has me sign the rmv form, asks me if i wanted him to put the sale price at 3,000 to avoid some sales tax... then I fill out the title etc and when he flips it over i notice... the title RECONSTRUCTED PRIOR COLLISION... boom my mood changes ive just been shot... i asked him about the collision he said it was the bumper and hood and that he uses the best parts... im not one to speak up so i took it and left

Ive been in a shitty mood all day, i try to tell the parents but they just make **** worse, i just want some advice... the cars title says 57,695 8/12/03 i guess thats when it was reconstructed.. he got the car on 9-11-04 with 90K, at least it went for 33K it was a repossessed car when i first saw the car it had all kinds of papers everywhere and a baby seat which leads me to believe that he wouldnt beat on the car... at least hope not, the car has a 3 month warranty on it..

the book value is at 7,905.. now my questions are.. is it worth even trying to hook it up knowing that the resale value will be crap?

If anyone has carfax or at least wants to go halves on it let me know

This is why I hate salesman. Bunch of ******. Personally I would NOT have bought that car or any other with a reconstructed title. But since you already have it do a carfax on it and see what comes up. As far as hooking it up..well that's up to you. If it runs fine and all you could do that. But regardless of the collision you won't get what money you spend on mods back when you try to sell it.
