Default Axle/Tranny questions

92 Si hatchback -

With the car jacked up, started and put in first - which wheel should be spinning?

My driver side wheel spins fine and the pass. is trying to spin but its not moving
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My driver side axle, I think, is making some noise when I'm driving - Kind of like the tire is rubbing on the plastic sometimes, some clicking and etc. I plan on replacing the axle today because a friend told me it was a worn joint. Are those normal axle symptoms or am I crazy?

thanks guys

not sure about the spinning tire part there, when my car is up and put into first both wheels spin, posi traction. The clicking and popping does sound like a cv axle. change it before it goes

Hmm. definitely check the axles... maybe they are bent... check the CV joints too... check your wheel bearings...

But it smells to me like you've got differential bearing going bad... I hope I am wrong... I really HOPE SO...
