Changed out sparks plugs and.........1 had oil on it....?

Default Changed out sparks plugs and.........1 had oil on it....?

I changed out my plugs on my 93 gsr and chamber 3 had a tad bit of oil on it? It wasnt soaking is oil but a little bit. Should i be worried? Do i have to get my seals changed?

no, you should be fine. its just a little bypass from the rings. nothing major. my 99 mirage did the same thing with 50,000 miles. if the problem persists then you should get it checked out.

It could be something as simple as a valve cover gasket leak. The o-rings around the spark plug holes can go bad and leak. This will allow oil into the spark plug hole.

Change the o-rings and see if that solves the problem.

how difficult is it to change the o-rings? How do i change it myself?

Changing the O ring is easy as hell. All you need to do is remove the valve cover. Turn the valve around and you should see the rubber rings.

thanks............sounds pretty simple.......but.......how do i turn the valve around?

Its the valve cover you turn around...make sure you buy 4 new o-ring seals....but changing that would only eliminate the oil leaking problem, if the oil was ontop of the spark plugs...usually when you pull out your spark plug wires they would be soaked in oil....if that didn't happen and the oil is actually on the plug itself then its blowby

The oil is not on the plug itself but when i take off my wires.......hopefully its just the o-rings then.thanks guys
