Anyone think theat black steelies are better than rims, cause i just sold my si wheels for 300 without tires, and the guy gave me his stock 14 inch black steelies, and im loving them, i was going to buy the 15 inch rota gt3 black with polish lip, but i would like to do some motor modifiacations such as turbo. Well the real question is, do you guys like steelies (on black car) better than rims?

Buy a can of black semi-flat spraypaint. Tape off the tires and the silver H-Logo in the middle. I did it and it took them from rust fugly to a really nice looking set of wheels!

Very true, but after a while you'll get tired of them.

 

yea it definitely works as a temporary look, but i mean, if u have a nice set of tires on them, and u like them go for it, i personally roll on 90-91 crx si rims, cause they look the smoothest in my opinion. i did the black steelies on a white crx look, and it got old. every once in a while, ur gonna look at ur car and have the urge to get rims, but remember MOTOR WORK IS MORE IMPORTANT!!!!

 

got a white rex with black steelies......love it. had white 16's on it when i got it and i hated the way it looked. black steelies are great.

 

i couldnt stand the time i had steelies on my car.. it looked ghetto as hell and i never could keep traction

 

I'm rockin' some 13" steelies just cause they're the only wheels we had that had tread (They still dont do much for traction on a CRX w/ a b18c1) It doesnt look that bad, but you definitely get tired of it.

As for the steelies vs. black rotas: they both look the same once you're moving!

 

i think wheels make the car... so if thats the if thats the look your goin for then your set.

 

I kinda like the beater look at times. Being in the city you're gonna get tons of dings and even some accidents, its nice to not go apeshit over every little flaw.

 

I am still searching for this swaeet ED hatchie with 15" steelies in silver....understated sleeper look.

That what Iam gona get as well, I not really a rim enthusiest, rather spend my money on the B16 or on the suspension

 

Steelies

 

i am thinking of having my 14 inch steelies powder coated in the new pearl silver/chrome that is availible. the powder coating shop cant give me a solid quote yet. but, the guy said it could be as little as 15 a rim. i think it would be cool.

they're just as light, if not lighter, than steelies. And, they look hella good when ur driving, you can see the drilled/slotted rotors poking thru. Now, I found a set of Honda "H" center caps and put those on there...and left them silver. Now they look sweeeeetttt!

 

i wish they made 15x7 inch rims that looked like steelies but were like 12lbs... heh

 

im drivin on my 14 steelies with my hupcaps and its lowered on eibachs springs, looks really clean imo..everyone likes the way my car looks. i just need new tires really bad becauser i have 46k on them with 10k camber wear. if anyone has 185/65/14 tires for sale lemme know

 

put me down for rollin on steelies. dont really like it. kinda lookin for a set of HX rims but i dont have the money.

 

Cops love steelies... especially if you have a louder than stock exhaust. Instant ticket catcher.
