i am (slowly) rebuilding my ls/vtec setup. right now my block is CLEAN and ready to go, but my B16 head's combustion chambers and valves are BLACK and dirty from my old setup!
what can i use to clean them up? i've already tried brake/carb cleaner and it barely does anything at all.

any suggestions?

oven cleaner (yes, oven cleaner) works wonders

 

you should take your head apart then get it hot tanked make sure you dont use any kind of acid on it or your gonna have no head after that.
