put the tires on and drop the car back to the ground. the weight of the car will keep it from spinning.

two ways i think, either way I don't think is the best.
1) Take some channel locks and compress the lca and spindle with them and that might jam it up.
2)Take a pickle fork and jam it up in there, as if you were going to seperate it. And see if that works. From the sound of it, either way you need a new balljoint because you took a torch to it.

best of luck, my method(s) are that sweet, but hey, they might just work.

Peace

do NOT do this... think about it.. if this does make the nut come off, the entire car will come crashing down, pushing the lower control arm onto the inside of your rim.. god forbid you are under the car

instead, place a jackstand under the control arm closer to the bolt

drop the car down easily onto the jackstand and voila.. pressed-in ball joint.

the nut will come off, then jack the car back up (might have to break loose again)and remove the ball joint shaft from the hole in the control arm.

Thanks but i just decided to cut it off. I am swapping in a b18c from my OTHER crx so i will just take the parts off of it and put it on this one. I was going to change the suspension between the 2 anyways. Looks like i am doing it ahead of schedule though

You could have just removed the lower control arm from everything and left it hanging from the ball joint, there for saving the trouble of cutting and such what.
