I'm from the Va. Beach area and I just got a Civic Turbo. Where and when can I start racing? Anybody knows of any places within 100-200 miles?

What kind of racing?

 

As for autocrossing, there is the Tidewater club that puts on events in the Va beach area. NASA and VMSC have autocrosses at VMP in Petersburg, VA, just south of Richmond. VMP is also a drag stip, ia m sure you can find info on the web about it.

I'm from VA BEach too and the street racing scene has been pretty good lately..and if you're talking bout the track VMP is like an hour and a half away but I think they only have one more event dec. 20-something.....and then they stop until sometime in March...btw what kindof car do you have...is it that Silver hatch back,,,if so I saw you last weekend

street racing is not even compared in the same galaxy to what we do, make the trip and check it out. You might even get to see some cars you probably thought you wouldn't be able to get up close to.

Too Cool I guess...maybe I'll just put my car in the garage for the winter and not race it and drive one of my other cars....and ofcourse when some one mentions street racing that automatically brings up Fast and the Furious

Are you saying that's an unreasonable thing to bring up? While the movie had a the wonderful surprise of a plot, you must admit it makes street racing just about as stupid as it is.

Street racing is to on-track racing as dogfights are to the greyhound races.

It's illegal, excessively dangerous, and no matter how many ricemobiles block streets, it's not a controlled environment. Go to the track.
