Gear ratios 90-92 accord 5pd, 92-95 prelude(vtec) 5sp???????
Could anyone please give me the gear ratios for a 90-93 Accord 5speed and the 92-95, 96-00 gear ratios for a prelude Vtec?!?!? My best friend has a 93 Accord LX 5 speed and he's going to do a H22A swap in a month or so. So we want to know is it worth it to keep the accord tranny or put the prelude tranny on??? Any help would be appreciated. Oh could anyone tell us what the final drive on the 90-93 Accord and 92-95,96-00 prelude Vtec. Thanx

I'll get you the ratios from my Helms manuals when I get home from work. But right now I can tell you the Prelude's tranny is a much better match for the H22 than the Accord tranny. The Prelude is after all a sport(y) car and therefore has close ratios to maximize acceleration (for a high reving 4 banger), while the Accord is a family car and is geared with higher ratios for highway cruising at lower RPMs. Upshifts on the Accord tranny will have the revs drop further and take the H22 out of the powerband.
