Default how do i break in a new clutch

i picked up my car yesterday from the shop. they installed exedy organic clutch and machined the flywheel. anyways i was wondering what's the proper way of breaking in a new clutch. i haven't driven my car hard, afraid to hit vtec. when can i at least drive pass 5500 rpm? and when can i start abusing it...hehe

thanks for the time....

Don't drive past 5500 rpm. Feather the clutch gently, and shift gently. Definitely don't be dropping the clutch or shifting at redline while breaking it in. Just try to keep the rpms at around 4000 when you shift, and be easy on it. Also, I don't know if this has to do with breaking in a clutch, but I remember hearing that you should drive at varied speeds a lot (eg. not 75 mph for an hour straight)....maybe this was the rule for breaking in a new motor, lol...
I think a good break-in period is about 500 miles, but I'm going to go a little longer when I get mine...

That's just for a motor. A clutch only wears when it's engaging because it's slipping. Once it's locked there's virtually no wear so a constant load isn't going to do anything to it. So if you drove 500 miles on the highway on a new clutch, it will not be broken in. The clutch has to wear to break in, which means starting the car from a stop and shifting like you're driving in the city for 500 miles or so.
