Although it's nice to announce a Type-R did the job, ya gotta give major credit to the drivers, Brian Fitzpatrick and his wife? Kathy Fitzpatrick for driving the wins in D stock and D stock ladies.
Also, With much respect I unfortunately don't know the other top 4 position holders for D stock with exception of Mark Daddio "Mr. Mazda Rev-it-up" in the Grassroot's Motorsports SRT4, and beating him is No small feat.
Major congratulations to all the winners and trophy holders at Nationals.

Yeah, it doesn't look much like the DS vs STX mix we get in ATL. Notice there's not a single WRX in DS, they've all gone to STX...

By all means, congratulations to the drivers
I just find it encouraging to see that, if I could ever learn to drive mine, the car is still trophy-capable.

Oh, absolutely I totally agree. Didn't mean to imply anything.

Fugg off, try me in Street Mod. Now that's depressing.
And one of the reasons I decided to do more Track events this year and leave Autocross as more of a test and tune and keep up my skills practice.

i got the impression at the beginning of the year that the kumho MX was the new tire to dominate STX. doesn't look that way to me:
kumho = 4
bfgoodrich = 1
falken = 47

Think it has anything to do with the surface at nationals?
In stock, I've always heard Kumho is competitive with Hoosier on asphalt, but that the concrete at nationals favors Hoosiers in a big way...

Sorry, that's what I was axing:
Do you think the concrete favors Falkens in STX the way it favors Hoosiers in DS?

Trophy in STX? Sure. Win STX? Not likely. ITR's are at a huge power disadvantage to the WRX's. Add to that the fact that you can get a 245 tire on all four corners of a WRX. I'm not sure you can even fit a 245 on the front of an integra. At some point I'm going to try, but I'm not holding my breath.

Todd Meade is more than capable driver, not sure what happened to him this event though, he was down on the sheets pretty far.

I think more drivers where using the Kumhos than are listed on the results. Ryan12321 was telling me that Mike King was using MX's but he is listed as Falkens on the results.
Also I believe Hoppe was using the Falken 451 shaved, not Azenis (very intresting development...)
In my experience, the MX gives better grip in hot weather on asphalt. I plan on getting some more Azenis for the cooler events this year (Oct-Nov-Dec) and using my MXes for summer.

This is true, but the potential is there and again anything can happen with the right driver. Ive seen some really good drivers turn the "Not good enough and underprepared cars" into monsters.
