Default TORQUE specs!!! cam caps

Hey whats up. well today i installed my valve springs and reatainers along with cams (CROWER stage 2) on my 97 LS. i looked in the Haynes manual for the torque specs for the cam caps. it says to torque them to i think 86 in-lb. whats does this equate to in foot lbs? do i divide it by 12 inches in order to get the foot lbs. so it will be about 8 ft-lbs? my friend who owns a shop torqued them to 15 ft-lbs.
