Tall gears
Say goodnight to your powerband if you go with an HF tranny. Besides, when I use to use one I don't think I so more than maybe 33mpg, thats pretty bad considering the tradeoff.

for example: 5th gear, 3k rpms, 90mph.
Great for mileage. In fact, I happen to have one for sale

I've seen threads to put an integra 5th gear into the b16 tranny to get lower engine rev on highway. Would it be possible to swap the 5th gear ( and counter-) from an HF into an Si tranny??
So you get the Si 1-4 power but then the HF low highway speed?

Why? Your powerband will suck. 1st and 2nd gear will be your only friends, 3rd, 4th and 5th don't do jack. Say goodbye to any sort of fun. The Si and the HF are literally night and day.
Why would you throw it all away for a measley little extra 2 mpg, if even that.
No, if you really want mileage, pick up an HF ecu, motor and transmission.
Whatever though, its your car.

As far as 33-34mpg that's pretty low. I just got myself 40mpg out of my STD. Then again I've had it for like a month and I granny shifted, but it is possible. Where I live (Northwest Louisiana), there aren't too many imports. I've finally decided that, for the time being, I'll probably swap in an HF tranny just for the 5th gear and focus more on cosmetics. Then again, it is his car, and if he is interested in an HF tranny, hell it's his car. As for mine, 4 gears sucks. I miss 5th!!!!!
