I wanted to clear up some room for an upcoming swap and smooth up my firewall so I decided to do something a little different. This is a reverse mount 90 degree brake setup that is used in alot of Boyd Coddington's cars. It basically puts all brake components under the dash

Well I actually first seen it on one of those shows on Discovery and after searching high and low I found the same setup. When I called the company about it the guy on the phone kept referring to "the Coddington cars" and when I recieved their catolog with the parts it had alot of part I've seen on the show (rear ends, ect) and one of the pics looks like it was taken in Boyds shop.


As far as bleeding, that will all be done before the dash goes back in and if I ever do have to mess with that stuff the dash isn't too difficult to get out now that all the other stuff is gone. Thanks for the compliments!

that will really clean up the engine bay. just out of curiousity, why dont you use the tilton floor mount setup that places the pedal assy. and resovoirs on the floor. not criticizing just curious. looks good.

some dodge full size vans have the master oriented that way, although still in the engine bay

 

Um did you know dual master cylinder setups are better?

Ummm....then why don't all cars come with them?? Dual is usually used as a redundant setup, case one fails or a brake line is cut you still have some sort of brakes. Important when you have open wheel racing where the wheel can be snapped off easily, not so important on stock type cars.

 

what about abs, did you have to junk that?

he majority of cars don't, and that setup is a very good saftey wist and it will give alot make pressure than your brake booster will supply, + when you get high performance cams, your brake booster won't be much help.

Not so important on stock type? Is this a stock car? I dont think so.
