What should one pay for a used NSX exhaust? Need one soon
Hey guys, well we had a '97 NSX come into the shop today that wanted to get some work done. We are going to be installing nitrous in the car and noticed he got hit in the back a while ago but the body shop never fixed his exhuast. He doesnt want to upgrade to aftermarket so we are on the look out for a used one. Does anyone know what the going rate for these are and where is the best place to find one caus you dont find many NSX's in junkyards.
You're going to want to look on eBay or the classifieds on NSXPrime.com. Curious though, why wouldn't he get a aftermarket exhaust?
We dont know the guy is 50 and a little weird but awesome caus at 50 going strong with car mods...hates exhaust noise from what he says though so that seams to be the issue

just put on an aftermarket exhaust but don't tell him. His hearing is going away being so old that he won't notice
all joking aside, oem exhaust goes for $0-100 dollars on nsxprime. Also there are aftermarket units that are relatively quiet such as DC sports and comptech.

If he's smart, he'll notice the change in tone. A stock NSX exhaust is very quiet on the car, compared to a HKS or Comptech exhaust or any other exhaust which is louder (Tubi, Flowmasters, Anytime). We have 3 stock exhausts sitting around at our shop and they sell pretty cheap when you look around. Otherwise, the cheapest you find a "good" aftermarket exhaust is no lower than $450, otherwise always around the $600-$1000 range, depending on how old it is, how used it is, what kind it is, and how fast the owner wants to get rid of it.
You'd be surprised.... those damn NSXprime members are like vultures on the classifieds forums. When a part goes up, especially one in high demand or hard to find, they swoop on them fast and usually the item is then sold right away.

Thats a good and bad thing.
Good- The people that are usually buying are serious buyers and you don't get a bunch of low ball buyers. I sold my supercharger for my integra on HT and got all kinds of really stupid offers.
Bad- It makes it tough for people looking for parts, they sell within an hour of posting. Try to find a set of headers for sale on prime LOL
