seats in a civic coupe
I ride a 1998 civic coupe and I'm planning on putting GS-R leather seats in for comfort and to hold me in better when turning hard. Currently i am running cloth EX seats which suck because they do not hold you in. Is this a good change? Anybody use these seats in a civic?
dunno about GS-R seats, but Del Sol seats hold real well when turning (i gots a del sol, so i should know
) they are really low though...so dunno bout GS-R if tehy sit higher or anything, but Sol seats do really wel in a civic

don't you tend to slide around more in leather seats? i always thought cloth was way better at holding you, even if the side bolsters aren't as big. i never sat in gsr seats though, they must be pretty "deep" with big side bolsters, no?
This thread isn't asking about del Sol seats.

Anyway, depends on your body. I have a 30" waist, weigh 150 pounds, and stand 5'5". GSR seats are way too wide for me (sat in my bro's). Even with the bolsters, I move around in those bitches a lot because they don't hug my body. So it really depends on how big you are. They look nice but don't fit me. For others, they're good. Just depends.
Also, yeah, you do tend to slide a bit more in leather seats. I'd recommend at least sitting in them before buying. Find someone with leather GSRs and see how they feel. That's what I did before buying a pair of seats. One thing I hated on the GSRs is the headrest. Totally uncomfortable for me, and I know I wouldn't be able to live with that on a daily basis. No adjusting could make me comfortable with it ... raised it, lowered it, always hated it.

thanks for explaining a little further. i'm not interested in getting them, but i was just struck about the leather holding better- didn't make sense from my personal experience with leather seats.

honestly, the switch to gsr leather seats from the stock civic seats was one of the best things i ever could've done to my car.
im 5'10, 160lbs, with a 32" waist and they fit me great.... SOOO MUCH more comfortable. I'd recommend anyone to it.

Just my 2 cents.

If you can move left and right while the car is stationary, forget it.
You want something you can get in and out easy and "comfort", by all means, buy that seats (Integra seats in this case). If you want something that can hold you in place while you corner, you need something else.
