hey everyone... can someone point out some parts for me? I just got myself a pitman puller and need to know how to use it. I was just wondering in the first picture, is that where you put the arm or claw on and push it up? And on the second picture, tell me if I'm wrong but #1 is lower ball joint, #2 is the tie rod, and whats #3??? Thanks for the help.

 

1- lower ball joint
2-outer tie rod joint
3- sway bar link bushings

 

#1 lower ball joint. #2 ball joint off the rack and pinion stering (tie rod). #3 looks like the sway bar end. yes in pic one, that is where you would place the fork, just lossen the crown nut and give it a bunch of nice bangs with the fork/claw/puller deal.

oh **** did not see that... do not use that tool noOb 'cause u well f#ck up the ball joint boot... use a ball joint separator... hold on i well get a pix for ya

 

i got the pitman puller... will the f*ck up the boot on the balljoint?

 

if you got that tool, your good... if not get that tool, they rent 'em out at many autopart stores... DO IT DO IT

 

this was discussed a few months ago, and with some practice and patience as to not **** anything up, you can use a 10 pound sledgehammer by hitting the lower control arm and NOT THE BALLJOINT!!! leave the nut on so just in case you miss, you don't get owned by f'd up threads.....
but the balljoint puller is the safest way
