any one have 9005 conversion?
1: No It Doesn't Melt Anything
2: You may get high beamed, but more than likely no because there's a lens difference between the standard lights and the high beams... that's why when you put your brights on the shoot twice as high. The 9005 are brighter, but it shouldn't be irritating to oncoming traffic. (Look at the lexus SUV for christs sake, i don't think it'll even be close to that)
3: I don't have it but a friend does, and if you get the super white 9005 conversion you can see anything!

defintely nice man! i love it, much better. really easy also. i get people flashing their brights at me all the time, but thats cause i adjusted them really far up to see better.

my bulbs came from the junkyard...from 2 different cars. they are only slightly brighter than the low beams. i dont see were there would be a blinding problem.
the low beam wiring looks visually to be the same gauge as the high beam wiring...but im not sure if it really is.

its not that much brighter that youd be high beamed back at all, it doesnt even change the direction of the light so theres no reason to believe anything is different from an outside perspective. but then, its not that much of a difference anyway to make a worried decision over. i got the extra bulbs from a junkyard, standard bulbs, there is a noticable improvement, but nothing shocking and the color is not changed or anything.
theres no way its going to melt anything anyway. the same type of wires that go to the normal high beam bulb are used for the low beams, so wire gauge isnt an issue for stock. im sure you could benefit from a better wire harness tho.
if your lowbeam bulb is out, just replace it with a normal 9005 i say. you dont have to do the silverstar or xenon green rice bulbs to do the conversion anyway. its such a simple modification everyone should do this.

9006 is the 88-91 civic/crx regular low beam bulb, 9005 is the high beam bulb. Now obviously the high beam bulb is alot stronger and connector for the bulbs are almost identical, just 2 plastic prongs on the 9005 connector which can easily be broken off apposed to a 9006 bulb, which has 1 prong. Just break off both prongs with a needle nose plyer and slide the 9005 bulb in the 9006 socket and wallah, your sporting a high beam bulb when you turn on your headlights.
I did the 9005 conversion it took about a total of 5 minutes and I used the GE super white bulbs from walmart. They were 9 bucks a pop and have lasted for going on a year now. This is a good thing it looks really white and is a lot brighter than stock. Also for you guys worried about high brighting people just adjust your headlights a little lower
