Default OT: Look Here Speed Freaks

Hey i dont really post much but i just found out yesterday that a friend of mine passed away due to a motorcycle accident. For those who live in LA, this was near the 605 and the 10 intersection. It was around 1 am and two mustangs were racing and didnt see my friend who barely got his licence n bike for about less than a month. one of the cars tapped the back of my friends bike and he lost control, flew head first into the divider. there was no chance of survival, they said he died on impact. The driver/s of the mustang/s never stopped to see if he was okay. Im guessing they were too scared to handle their consequences. The reason for my posting this topic is to remind people that Motorcycles , i know, are real fun but you need to reevaluate what you are risking. Once you know or seen someone die from a motorcycle accident, you'll really know how NOT worth it it is to have one. My friend was only 19 and his 20th birthday was just coming up... so again drive safe, be careful, and sell your god damn bikes if you have one

I am very sorry for your loss. This is the very reason that I will never own a motorcycle.

I would love to own a motorcycle but stories like this will never let me buy one. Plus the fact my mom said she would kill me first

I very sorry to hear about your friend. I had two friends die on bikes back when I was in high school and one of them was hit by a drunk driver . Recently, a lady I work with's daugthers rode from here, Vancouver, B.C. down to Cali and back. On there way back they crossed the Oregen/Cali border to a town called Brooks Falls, I think. Anyway, proceeding to turn left on an advance green a truck ran the red and hit one of them. This was in early August. The lady I work with has been off work ever since taking care of her. Neck, back, and nerve damage was a result. Exstensive physio will take place for a long, long time and the law suit is huge. I know how you feel and this reinforces why I won't ride a bike. Again, my heart goes out to your friend and his family and vehicle drivers really need to pay attention and slow down.

I had a good friend get thrown into the guard rail on 405 South bound near the S-curves in Renton. He died on impact just like your unfortunate friend. Though, when he died he was only 16.

This summer when I got back to Seattle, I sold my Honda Superhawk 996. I was never irresponsible, but it seemed everytime I was on it, I had to dodge so many cars because they, straight up, are not paying attention and don't see you. I had to lay it down once because a lady cut me off.

It's amazing how fleeting life is. By learning from the losses of my close friends and from stories I hear from others, I truely take them to heart and am glad I get to wake up in the morning to experience yet another day.

I'm terribly sorry for your loss, and wish only the best for you, your family, his family and his friends during this trying time.
