Default 00 Si Front Onto Crx. Is it Bolt Up?

Looking to do this front end conversion on my Crx just so to me it keeps a more updated look.

I just wanna know if its basically a bolt up swap and Im lucky or if a lot would be involved.

Any pics would be really sick

Would I need to do anything about the rad support? I would be using locking hood pins so a stock latch would not be needed.

Dont tell me not to do it please keep that to yourself, the SiR just isnt worth the $700 for wrap around corners and ahigher hood

Thanks guys

I really think your vastly underestimating the work involved in this project. I wish you all the luck in the world, since I'm sure you WILL need it. And, there is no way an 00 Si front end will simply 'bolt up' to any year CRX. But hey, maybe you can prove me wrong. - Darrell

I just read a thread where the guy said he thought he was going to be in a **** load of work. Ended up completely bolting up

Im sure a few holes will need to be drilled for the new stuff and there moutning holes

Only problem I can foresee is the hieght of the headlights and how that would be done

Im very good with fiberglass though, you should see the moulding and shaving I did last year on my current crx, need something different

It is cool that you want to attempt something new but the SI is so round and CRX are square. I think it will look fairly unattractive but it is also your vehicle to do what you want. Not only that, the fenders on a CRX are small and short that the SI, I would think that the fenders and hood have the posibility of sticking up above the belt line and not being able to line of the body lines.

Best of luck to you...

i saw a pic of someone's car that did that. in all honesty, it didn't look too bad. and i'm picky
but i'm also fairly sure it won't be a bolt on sitch.

Post a link...because that's complete crap.

The cars aren't the same width, the nose is longer on the '00, etc etc etc.

It completely bolted up in the sense that you use bolts to hold all the pieces of crap together That doesn't mean it will bolt up to all the OEM mounting locations and look RIGHT doing so.

Look closely at the pic, the fender is higher on the A pillar and the belt line and the hood is higher and it just doesn't look right. I would love to see a pics of the car from straight over top of it I would bet the front is wider than the rest of the car as pointed out by Jonathan_ED3
It is different but I don't really care for it.....but to each there own. All I know is once you do that the value of my CRX's will go up cause it will be one more ruined CRX.

Ya If you guys find this thread I saw not to long ago either

It was a Crx with an 00 Si front, painted champ white, Ctr headlights, the guys if I remember said it was an easy swap for the front end

It really did look awesome and look like the updated crx and flowed really good

But it wasnt on a stock crx like above, it had the WW sides and door caps and the WW rear bumper along with some sort of small whale tail wing with completely reded out tails

Ill find the thread later maybe

I think changin body parts from other cars is kinda dumb but the JDM type r or 92-95 front end would probly match better.
