Okay I have some paint Questions?
Okay So i have a 96 Accord V6 LX as some of you know. And its a champaign color.. and its got alot of scratches and the rear bumper is going to be replaced. Now I am only willing to spend about $500 MAX! on a paint job but i want it to be the same color and i want a great paint job so it doesnt like rust in a matter of 6 months i want something that will last me atleast 3-4 years.
You can try some onsight paint repair companies i work for a rental car place and there always there they specialize in just repainting one or two panels and they are pretty reasonably priced the guy that does ours charges 150 a panel
a 'good' $500 paint job really doesnt exist, your best bet, especially if you want your paint to go back to looking how it did when the car was brand new, is to try and save something like $2000, that is a more realistic figure, see, what most people dont realize is that the stock paint job that comes on your Honda isnt all that bad, and in replacing it, can cost you, so take that into consideration...

MAACO jobs aren't consistent. Some people recieved decent jobs from MAACO, some people recieve crappy ones. I say either save and get a good paint job, or do what another user said and have some specific panels repaired.

your best bet is to save the money....even if only some panels are painted, because of atmospheric conditions during the painting process, the surfaces will NEVER me 100% exact matches of each other.....
is your car cashmere silver ???

good paint jobs are expensive... cheap places don't prep the body well enough, use cheaper paint, don't spray as many coats of paint, or clear coat for that matter...
having friends that own body shops, i can tell you... for a good paint job, expect to spend a bare minimum of $1200, but more likely $1500-2000. (for painting an entire car)
now, knowing you only want to spend $500 max, if they scratches aren't too deep, they can be buffed out by a body shop without repainting. i forgot what the stuff my friend's place uses, but it's amazing. it took all the scratches out of my car in a matter of minutes. we just put it on like a wax, then buffed it off. a good shop can paint just a bumper for maybe around $200. be warned though, the older your car and the more sun it has seen, the higher the chance your original paint has faded to some degree.

If you want a good paint job from a place like MAACO then you need to do all your own prep work and make sure the car is perfect before it goes there and chances are it will turn out much better than most expect. Try searching in the appearance forum and you should find some threads about cheap paint jobs.
