atuo tranny VTEC Final drive & non-vtec Final Drive...r they the same?

Just wondering....

My automatic transmission on my D16Y8 (SOHC VTEC) is

on life support at the moment...

and I just aquired a D16Y7 non-vtec auto tranny...from a 2000 DX..

Is it possibly to swap the final drive from my SOHC VTEC tranny onto the DX tranny?

is this a good idea to do?

or am I just wasting my time doin this final drive swap?
