OT: Shipping a Vechicle across the country
I've got a car that i want to buy thats in San Diego, and i had a few ideas on options - looking for the least painful and time consuming and i'm also trying to keep costs down. I live outside of Washington DC in Va.... The options i thought of are:
Drive out with friend and 4Runner, tow MR2 back
Take Train/Bus out and drive MR2 back
Fly out and drive MR2 back (both of these require me to buy a trailer for the MR2, as it comes with extra wheels/tires/spares/etc, but it has a hitch installed).
Have MR2 shipped across the country
If i had the car shipped, how much would this cost (anyone know?) and would i be able to have extra sets of wheels/tires and spares sent with it?
Thanks!

It would be about $750(www.movesplus.com) to ship on an open trailer, you can fill up every thing but the drivers seat area with spares, anything else will have to be shipped on a pallet with a freight company.
I bought my GVR4 from a guy in San Diego, flew out there (cheaptickets.com), picked it up, and drove back in four days. I live in central NC. We got to know each other real well...
What about renting a Uhaul and loading the car up in that......... driving back with all the spares, etc. Of course that does mean i spend 3-4 days confined in a uhaul........
