Help with my swap.....
It’s a jdm d15b vtec motor in an 89 crx.
Motor is in and everything is done. The injector wiring and everything has been done.
The problem I’m having now is with the distributor. I can’t use the d15b distributor because its obd1 and the harness won’t plug into the obd0 harness from the distributor. I tried using the distributor from the stock motor, but the holes don’t line up, so I can’t bolt it down.
What distributor should I use for this swap? Or is there a way I can get the obd1 distributor to work?
For the meantime so I can start the car, I was thinking of making the holes on the distributor bigger so I can bolt it onto the head.
Any suggestions?

you have to chop one of the legs off the distributor and enalrge the holes. use a timing light, or turn it til she starts.
obd1 would be a good thing to change to, but i understand u just want it to run.

yeah...we just want to get the car started right now.
we will just end up modifying the stock distributor to fit.
we have a timing light, so we will set the timing to normal.
thanks

okay....
if i use the distributor from the stock motor, what wires do i run from the ecu to the distributor.
you are supposed to run two wires from the ecu to the distributor, but the stock wiring harness doesn't have those two wires.
i'm putting a jdm d1b5 vtec motor in an 89 crx hf.

yeah..post a pic if you can.
Here’s the deal.
It’s a jdm d15b vtec in a crx. When doing the dual point conversion, the stock distributor from the stock motor only has 5 wires from the distributor, so the two wires that are needed to convert it to the dual point off the distributor aren’t there.
When he tried to use the distributor that came with the d15b vtec motor, the harness won’t plug in cause that distributor is obd1 and not obd0.
Is there anyway that he can use the obd1 distributor with the obd0 harness and wire up the dual point correctly? If he uses the distributor from the stock motor, where would you add the two wires for the distributor so the dual point can be wired up?
Please post a pic if you one.
thanks
