Strange humming from Air Intake Area
I'm gonna repost this problem because the other thread went to crap, and everybody just shook there heads. Maybe I can better clarify now that I ve messed with the car.
Ok. Starting over.... I have a '00 Civic, all stock nothing special. In the last 3-4 months I have done:
Spark Plugs, PCV, NGK Wires, Air Filter... Im having a crap load of trouble changing the fuel filter, damn thing is on there tight!
Now the problem: The car after running for about 15 minutes has a small low humming/buzzing type of noise coming from the IACV area. RIGHT below the air box, between the fuel filter and box you can hear the noise clear as day. Ive touched every hose I could find to see if theres a vacuum leak, but no look on that end. Any ideas? Could the IACV be tested to see if the noise is being emitted from there? What can I do? ALSO, F.Y.I., as mentioned before, I have found that air comes out from the hole above the throttle plate when gas'ed.
Any and all ideas are appreciated, i wanna fix it ... before it turns into something major! (if at all.)
Thank YOU!!

for the FF, you need to have a wrenck on the bottom bolt aswell as the one right above it (on the bottom nuts on the FF) and loosen it like that. if you dont have both...you will just twist the metal fuel line.
your more than likely not having air coming from your IACV.
your not too clear...do you have CAI or just stock? and when your talking about the hole by the throttle plate, if your talking about when you TAKE the hoses for the intake OFF, and its just the TB and the intake mani...there is a hole on the underside, its suppose to be there...
It just sounds like your car sucking in air.....its suppose to do that..... my CAI humms....lol i dont understand what you mean.

Yes, I know this. I have tried with two wrenches and still cant get it to move an inch. And yes, i did slighty bend the rail just trying with 2 wrenches... i give up on that before i completely f**k myself and have to install a new fuel rail.

First off, I dont know why your being sarcastic, im pretty pissed i cant find the problem... as for the joke, yes it is stock, i will try to post a clip if i can find my charger for my camera, so all can hear. As for the hole, it is the whole in the TB ... but what im asking is, is there supposed to be air shooting out of there when the car is gased. My car is idle'in funny, and feels f**kin constepated when driving. feels shitty since i first heard this noise. like i said, its not a natural noise, and its not loud enough to hear from within the car when driving, only when under the hood. the harder you gas it, the louder the noise will be when you let go of the throttle. The noise is coming from the TB, and cant find where!

Wow you 2 need to learn how to quote each other right, that was alot of reading for the lazy (like me).
Fuel Filter problem First. When i did mine (and my friends car) i took the filter completely out of the car with the fuel line still attached. Then sprayed a grip of PB Blaster and WD40 on it. Then i put the wrench that holds the bottom nut on the curb and put another wrench for the bolt that moves and pushed it down. Becareful to not hit the curb, put a towel there or something.
Take a picture of that hole that shoots air out. Also does it feel like air is being sucked in at idle? And your sure the humming isnt comeing from there correct? Does it get louder when you give it throttle? Or does it stay the same humming sound?
If you quote anything i say use the Quote feature.

Yea sorry bout the poor Quoting. Anyway, at idle it feels like the hole isnt even in use. Its when you push the throttle you get air out of it. Its the hole right above the throttle plate. I will take a pic tomorrow, but im sure most know what this hole is. Me personally, im new to hondas, dont know crap about 'em! So, maybe its some kind of gas / pressure emission control... where it shoots re-cycled gasses for burning. just a thought since its location. I dont know, im shoot in in the dark even on this.
The humming IS coming from the TB. Its coming from right around below the air box, round about behind it down a little. I will have to get pics on here for this i guess.

Ah, now I understand the confusion in your other thread. It's a fuel line, not rail. The fuel rail is the rail that the fuel injectors connect to.
If you think there is a problem with a leak, spray carb cleaner all around in areas where it could be. If your idle goes up, it means that you found the leak.
If you think there is a prob with the IACV, use the helms to figure out how to test it.

No, its not from a line i dont think . The sound is coming from the IACV area, no clue. Its not from the injectors, the sound soudns like its below the fuel rail and injectors. Sounds like its comin from directly below the Air Box.
