Default ITB's vs regular sytle intake manifold

Here's the question. What is better and why? Please have some actual knowledge to back up your answer. And some more to think about? If ITB's are so good and make more HP then why don't most all-motor drags (the real one running low 11's or better) use them. And why don't circuit racers use them more often?

I don't know about all-mota drag cars, but most roadrace cars don't run itbs because they are limited by class rules. HC requires stock intake manifold even for H1 cars.
